ReCollection series“KYUBOTOMA”

In the era of the information revolution—marked by the rise of the internet and social media—we are
constantly inundated with information. Amid this overwhelming flood, even the memories that have shaped
my identity risk sinking into the depths of the unconscious, quietly fading away.
Through the process of working with the potter’s wheel, I am able to detach myself from this excess of
information and confront my inner self in a meditative state. My practice becomes a means of sorting
through the chaos of thoughts and memories that exist in my mind.
Clay, with its inherent plasticity that allows it to retain the
traces of applied force, becomes a medium that captures
unconscious bodily expressions in their rawest form.
By using the technique of the wheel and the materiality of clay,
I search for images that lie dormant within the unconscious
and consciously reconstruct them into tangible works.
