Dripping Guinomi with fragile tag
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
A work from the Dripping series, in which beautiful patterns emerge on the fine white porcelain of Arita ware from a brush laden with glaze, moved lightly, freely, at times with a flick of the wrist.
Inoue's signature works, made using a technique called "yūteki" (glaze-drip), deliberately relinquish control of the brush, expressing the chance and improvisation that surface unconsciously as a result.
This work uses an overglaze-transfer technique to fire a "Fragile" label into the porcelain, letting the two coexist. Beyond the message of wanting the piece handled with greater care, it also aims to redefine the presence and purpose of the shipping-label sticker itself.
A work fusing the spirit of street culture — outspoken and bold in its sense of color — with the seemingly opposite tradition of Arita ware.
*As natural materials are used and each piece is made entirely by hand, individual variation occurs in pattern, shape, coloring, and size. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
