ghost mizar alcor / cherry blossom

This work is a derivative of the “ghost” series. Begun in 2021, this body of work aims at a “return to craft” in a series that had been drifting toward purely artistic expression, attempting its further development by adding ornamentation.

Also, from 2023 onward, it was integrated with the similarly derived "re-perception of purposefulness" (a work not exhibited in this show) to become a homage to an actual existing craft object.
The distinctive gold coloring comes from gold lacquer, which preserves the conventional matte texture while seeking to restore, in the present day, the relationship between craft and its purposefulness.
