A foundational figure for the rise of manga and anime both in Japan and abroad, "Mazinger Z" became hugely popular in manga and TV anime in the 1970s and served as the wellspring for the giant-robot anime that followed — significant enough to be exhibited as an art piece. The way a person boards and is empowered by a robot shares common ground with the modern warriors empowered by donning armor, and has been reimagined here as a Hoyoroi Sakazuki.
