Hikidashi-guro (Pulled Black) Tea Bowl

A technique in which the piece is fired in an anagama kiln for a day and a half, drawn out red-hot with iron tongs, and rapidly cooled to produce a jet-black luster. Ash-glaze kiln transformation unique to the anagama kiln gives the black texture endless variation, alongside the rich character of momokusa clay and other points of interest.
