DESCRIPTION
A style emblematic of his role as the 16th-generation Housai of Asahi-yaki.
The beautiful blue geppaku glaze made with straw ash creates a variety of expressions within a single tea bowl,
A powerful, primitive scenery of scarlet (hiiro) scorched deeply by fire, and
while maintaining contrast, a white slip applied with the same pouring technique as the geppaku glaze
linking the two together, expressing a contemporary “kirei-sabi” befitting the 16th-generation Housai,
A tea bowl that embodies this.
This piece has an elegant presence in which the softness of the rim harmonizes with the whole.
