Distant Scenery Inkstone — Viewing the Ridge —

Now that lifestyles have changed, the significance and value of the inkstone are wavering.
Rather than lament this, I repeat the cycle of touching, observing, and leaving the stone alone, turning over in my mind the new possibilities that flicker in and out of view.
At times, the stone speaks to me.
"What do you see?", it asks.
Curiously, the relationship of seeing and being seen shifts back and forth.
This silent fragment of the earth may awaken our pure, innocent curiosity and creativity.
