DESCRIPTION

While visiting New York, Koga spotted a "maneki-neko" in a shop with no apparent connection to Japan. Surprised by its striking presence even within a foreign culture, this experience became the impetus for this series.
Koga has previously made Japanese lucky charms such as maneki-neko and daruma. Along the way, he realized that the power such lucky charms hold lies in giving form to people's very "wishes", and his interest gradually broadened to lucky items in general. In the course of his research, he became interested in the piggy bank as a motif. Surprisingly, its origin is said to lie in London, and it is now beloved in regions across the world. The characters written on piggy banks carry meanings such as "inviting treasure" and "accumulating wealth", while also symbolizing prosperity and the flourishing of descendants.
