DESCRIPTION
A technique in which the piece is fired in an anagama kiln for a day and a half, drawn out with iron tongs while glowing red-hot, then rapidly cooled to produce a jet-black luster.
Kiln transformations from ash glaze unique to an anagama kiln give the black texture a wide range of variation.
There is much more to see besides, including the richly textured Momokusa clay.
