Fired slowly for five days in an anagama kiln, then cooled for a week before being taken out. Though small, it is packed with points of interest — a yuzu-peel texture and a mouse-gray color that emerged from an overall application of ohaguro (iron mordant). Its crisp, upright form is refreshing, a piece to enjoy turning in the palm of your hand.
