Kiseto ware develops its distinctive abura-age hada (fried-tofu-skin) texture through slow firing within the kiln. Subdued as it is, the glaze holds many points of interest — yellow and brown scorch marks, and touches of green known as tanban. Its crisply cut form is refreshing, a piece to be enjoyed by rolling it in the palm of the hand.
