Crimson Shino Tea Bowl

Fired slowly for five days in an anagama kiln, then left to cool for a week before being drawn out. Coated with kanaguro (iron-oxide slip) before applying Shino glaze, it takes on a range of colors from crimson to gray. There is also much to admire in its plump, yuzu-peel-like texture and the richly flavored momokusa clay.
