This series of works, ``Bone Flower,'' was born when the ``boundary'' between architecture and ceramics, which were supposed to be far apart, melted. Architectural design methods using the latest technology such as 3D CAD and programming are combined with traditional Ohi ware techniques.
Fragments of bone-like ceramic plates come together like vibrant flowers, emitting a primitive vitality that resembles the flame-fired pottery of the Jomon period.
Unlike Western architecture, in traditional Japanese architecture, the ``boundary'' between inside and outside is ambiguous. A dirt floor, a porch, and an open paper shoji screen. Wind and light flowing through it. Light pottery that embraces these ambiguous boundaries. There is a budding ``Japanese'' style of pottery that denies the traditional solemnity of pottery.
