SPIKY SHELL BI 0621-LX
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
A sake cup in bronze coloring, distinguished by a form said to be inspired by a seashell. As its title suggests, its form is distinctively inspired by a seashell.
The SPIKY series deliberately approaches today's flattened way of seeing things with a sense of the foreign. It is distinguished by a form that seems to refuse being picked up at all.
The protrusions radiating outward make visible and tangible a force inherently latent within an object. The result is a powerful expression, as if the hidden strength within had burst out onto the surface.
Ceramics, a traditional craft nurtured over a long history. Koga intends, by introducing a stimulus in form, to give the person holding it a fresh sense of surprise.
