The SPIKY series takes a deliberately foreign approach to today's flattened way of seeing things. Its form seems to resist even being picked up. The "studs" protruding from the vessel visualize and give tangible form to the power inherently latent within an object — a powerful expression, as if the hidden inner force has burst forth onto the surface.

Ceramics, a traditional craft nurtured over a long history. Koga intends, by introducing a stimulus in form, to give the person holding it a fresh sense of surprise.
