He considered white porcelain to be a "white jewel" and pursued the beauty of the shadows reflected on its surface.
Just as gemstones such as diamonds become more brilliant when given a unique cut,
The shape of this work, which divides one square into four sides, was created to express shadows that stand out on white porcelain.

When applied to platinum or gold, this shape transforms into a ``sparkling'' shape that reflects light.
This work can be said to represent Koga's concept of considering ceramics as "jewels."
