Benikasoe uses soil with a higher iron content than Shikasoe, and like Shikasoe, it has a spotted pattern similar to the back of a deer, created by firing Uji soil that has been left to rest for many years and pine wood in a climbing kiln. In addition, although the houkime technique has been used since the early days of Asahi ware, it has a feel cultivated in the Tsukishiro glaze style, and is not shaped in the classic style of Benikase. Furthermore, by applying gold coloring, the tea bowl has a strong modernity that harmonizes the gorgeousness with the beautiful earthen taste of the kiln.
