Masks have been created in Japan for over several thousand years, during the Jomon period. The origin of masks is thought to have come from the fact that masks began to be used in rituals, where humans could take the place of the object and perform prayers and exert powers that humans could not.
Among them, masks with fox motifs often appear in anime and other works. This may be because in Japan, foxes have long been seen as gods who govern fertility, and the masks may have served as icons that used the fox's power to mediate prayers to nature.
In this work, I aim to express masks, a part of Japanese culture that has been passed down from thousands of years ago to the present, in a new form. The mask does not simply represent a fox, but the studs are decorated to amplify the power inherent in the mask itself, making power and prayer visible.
Koga sees the modern era as an age of inferiority. Even in today's uncertain future, if you have the will and determination to pioneer the times, you can stand out regardless of your origins. The mask serves as a device for the power hidden within to emerge to the surface.
