In this work, colorful graffiti covers the entire body with a profusion of characters, in place of traditional phrases like "certain victory," "good fortune," or "prosperous business."
「Get Stand Up」「Stay Gold」「Silver lining」
These positive words are ones that Koga directs toward present-day society.
The studs covering the daruma evoke punk; the graffiti, street culture—both find their place on the canvas of the daruma, itself nurtured within Japanese culture. Koga finds in these disparate cultures a shared underlying idea.
