DESCRIPTION
Silver luster was applied to bring out the beauty of the geppaku (moon-white) glaze.
Silver decoration is usually applied over a glaze, but here it is applied directly to the unglazed body, so the silver soaks into the clay itself, creating a distinctive texture that combines a metallic sheen with a matte surface. Over time, the silver changes from whitish silver, taking on a yellowish tinge, and eventually a smoky, blackened silver — a patina to be enjoyed as it develops.
