The surface of the cup shows a metallic blue gradient brought up by the reduction flame; the carafe depicts a cosmic landscape woven into the glass to match the cup's pattern. Discover the sense of the cosmos held in its details, and the hues that shift with the light, as you hold it and turn it in your hand. Pour in sake and enjoy the image of swallowing the cosmic space drifting inside the cup.

In this work, the trace lines that appear when glass is layered and wound from the furnace can be seen running through it like lines.
The color is achieved by vaporizing and fusing a special metal — a technique that appears in nearly all of this artist's space-themed works.
