The Desire Tea Bowl series is, so to speak, self-portrait-like,
A work that lists, in text, the things I love.
The idea came to me while thinking about "self love" — self-love — and
What, exactly, is needed to love oneself?
One answer is to satisfy desire in moderation.
That desire is, simply, whatever each person loves,
Gathered together, they emerge as individuality, reflecting oneself.
“Erotic,” of course, refers to sexual desire, and it is one of the things I love.
Its form is an homage to the Ao-Ido tea bowl, an Important Cultural Property, and
The atmosphere and sense of scale have been made similar.
